Liked: A wonderful property with stunning rooms - both the bedroom and ensuite bathroom was freshly decorated and presented to high standard.
Disliked: Dining area is very nice, however appeared understaffed during our visit. Long wait for breakfast service, but decent once delivered. Appears to be an issue with temperature; towel rail is on constant and makes the room even warmer, which is not ideal in summer weather.

Disliked: Beds are extremely uncomfortable - stayed two nights and didn’t sleep well at all. Mattress and pillows very firm. The hallways had a strange smell and the building and rooms are very tired.

Charming old building and good...

Liked: Lovely, characterful old building. I arrived late and the night porter was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was good quality and the coffee machine in my room was a nice touch.
Disliked: There was a general lack of attention to detail that you would expect for the price charged. Examples include housekeeping not visiting my room at all on one day, and the brewery were allowed to lower beer barrels into the cellar during breakfast, right next to the table where my colleagues and I were attempting to have a conversation, forcing us to move. Breakfast that day also took half an hour to arrive, and on the first morning there were no teaspoons on the tables. I found the pillows to be excessively hard and asked the duty manager for a softer pillow, to be told that they don’t have any. The desk chair in my room was quite rickety and uncomfortable, and most of its padding had gone so I could feel the wooden frame around the seat.

Disliked: The evening meal was well below expectations - poor value for money and initially served cold.For a restaurant that was not busy at all they could really have done much better. I would not have dinner there again
