Liked: We enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was lovely and welcoming. The staff were lovely and friendly. The accommodation was very nice and comfortable and clean.The food was top notch could not complain one little bit. The breakfast which we had included was one of the English breakfasts iv ever had. We also paid for a meal which was very good value for money and was also very nice. Compliments to the chefs
Disliked: There was not much to do inside or outside the hotel. You definitely need a car.

Perfect for a stop-over

A comfortable and pleasant stay...

Liked: The stay and breakfast were lovely - great value for money, comfy beds, and friendly staff who were attentive and helpful throughout.
Disliked: The only downside was the lack of an extractor fan in the bathroom, which made the room feel a bit stuffy - especially since we couldn’t open the window due to the rain. Otherwise, everything else was great.

Comfy pod, but lack of...

Liked: The pod was super comfortable, amazing bed, great deck and little private fenced garden for my dog. Really quiet at night and private. The pods are furthest from the restaurant and pub so much quieter. Appreciated the EV chargers which were always available. Nice hot shower. Cosy pod with all the comforts.
Disliked: When I arrived, it wasn't clear where to check in, the signage wasn't great. I wandered into reception and was greeted by very unenthusiastic staff, who simply handed me a key and said the name would be on the pod. I wasn't shown where to go,and after trying my key in both pods, found the right one. I wasn't given info on breakfast times, so when I arrived at restaurant at 7.15am, the staff looked surprised and said I was early but didn't let me know when breakfast started. Although breakfast was included as part of my stay, I didn't eat at the restaurant owing to early starts. There seems to be no focus on guest experience or flexibility to cater for hikers / walkers setting off early.The parking lot doubles as a space for camper vans so can get busy and a bit rowdy.
