The Spotlight on The Jubilee Hotel & Conferences

Peaceful Lakeside Hotel Close to Nottingham's Music Scene

Modern, peaceful, and set within the University of Nottingham's Jubilee Campus, The Jubilee Hotel & Conferences provides a tranquil base just 1.8 miles from the heart of Nottingham’s music and nightlife. With its serene lakeside setting, complimentary parking, and free WiFi throughout, this non-smoking hotel is a practical and relaxing choice for concert-goers looking to mix music with a mellow stay.

Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just a short cab or bus ride from major venues like the Theatre Royal Concert Hall and the National Ice Centre, making it easy to get to and from shows. The peaceful campus location means you’ll enjoy a quiet night’s sleep after the encore – no thumping bass from the street below. The hotel’s 24-hour front desk and evening food options ensure you won’t go hungry after a late finish, and check-in from 15:00 makes it easy to drop your bags and head out.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends looking for affordable comfort
Solo travelers checking off a must-see gig
Couples making a romantic weekend of a concert
Fans who appreciate a quieter retreat after the show
Budget-conscious music lovers who want value without sacrificing comfort

Food and Drink Options

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Spokes Café, served daily. The café also offers lunch on weekdays until 4pm. For those post-concert cravings, the hotel provides a delicious out-of-hours menu available at the bar. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the bar menu covers late-evening needs well, and there are plenty of food spots a short ride away in central Nottingham.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself keeps things low-key, you’re never far from Nottingham’s buzzing night scene. From edgy clubs to cozy pubs and cocktail lounges, downtown nightlife is just 10–15 minutes away. Prefer something closer to home? Enjoy a relaxed drink at the hotel bar before calling it a night.

What People Say

Guests love the calm lakeside setting and the cleanliness of the rooms. Reviewers appreciate the free parking and the helpful, friendly staff. Many mention the hotel’s great value for money and how easy it is to get to the city center using local transport or rideshares.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel doesn’t have an on-site restaurant open late into the night, so if you’re looking for a post-midnight meal, you may need to plan ahead. Being located on a university campus means the vibe is more relaxed than rowdy – great for sleep, but not for spontaneous after-parties.

The Bottom Line

A quiet, affordable hotel just minutes from Nottingham’s top concert venues – perfect for music fans who want comfort and convenience without the downtown noise.

Has the potential to be...

Liked: Good price, good location, impressive atrium, free parking, friendly staff, comfortable bed with quality bedding.
Disliked: Nice room but just a little lacking in so many areas...Only plug / USB sockets and lamp on one side of the bed.Couldn't open the window more than a few inches despite the design of the hotel meaning that there was no way it would be possible to accidentally fall out of the window. (However, a fan was provided and was much appreciated - thank you).TV too big - almost made it impossible to access the mirror behind. A TV of that size is way too big for a hotel room of this size.Mis-matching shower head and shower head attachment on the wall - made for a problematic shower!Mouldy in-bath rubber mat. However, the above are all minor details compared to the disruption that we had for the last two hours of our stay - from shortly after 9am and until we checked out at 11am, there was continual extremely loud maintenance noise directly outside our room - drilling and hammering. We mentioned this on check out and were told we'd hear back but nothing as yet. If maintenance is planned, at least wait until after the check out time, or put guests in a different part of the hotel. Spoiled our visit.
