I was repeatedly admonished for...
Liked: The hotel's location is excellent for exploring downtown as it's easy walking distance from the AT&T plaza, JFK Memorial, and Dallas Museum of Fine Arts. I stayed in the Premier King, and the room was lovely; a large rain shower is nice. Also, I appreciated the digital controls for lights and shades. The hotel has two wings, I stayed in the one above the spa. It was quiet (except for some car noise from the street ) and serene, with a beautiful walkway leading to the spa. Spa Joule was outstanding, with fantastic service and nice amenities - with a small pool that cannot be used for swimming but is adequate for louching in it and using jets. There are also dry and aromatherapy saunas that were not hot enough for my taste, but otherwise, they are spotless and lovely. The waiting room has a couple of beds, which was a nice touch, especially for allowing the massage heat to settle. The service exceeded my expectations, especially considering fair pricing for this level of service.
Disliked: The gentlemen at the front desk could not find my reservation, booked through a third party, and, even after I showed him the confirmation email and booking record on the party's (Booking.com) website, he instructed me to call the third party myself. After I showed surprise and very politely asked the front desk personnel to figure this issue out (that is the least what is expected from a 5-star hotel), he was visibly annoyed, yet asked someone to check on the reservation. The reservation was confirmed, but the hotel billed me higher than the price I had booked. After a polite inquiry and the need for assistance were expressed concerning an issue with reconfirming the price, he firmly declined and chastised me for booking through a third-party provider. He said there was nothing he could do for me anymore, that I had to call the provider myself, and that I should have booked directly with the hotel (it seems a bit unbelievable for a 5-star place, but that is almost verbatim how it went). After I asked to see the manager, the gentleman said he was the manager, and no one could help me. Regrettably, his demeanor was unprofessional and did not match the standards expected of an establishment claiming to be 5-star. It significantly detracted from my overall experience at a lovely hotel. As P.S. to this saga: I spent half an hour on the phone with the Booking customer service representative, who sent me an email confirmation that he called the hotel, reconfirmed the price and that I should be charged the agreed-upon amount. Well, checking out in the morning, the charges were not adjusted, and I again was advised to book directly from the hotel.

Liked: The service was the best part of our stay. Every time we needed help, we found it. The staff went above and beyond.
Disliked: The price was quite high ($500 per night) and the room and hotel were nice but not THAT nice.
