Very nice, and quite historic...

Liked: Enjoyable stay, ideal for one or two nights. Also had dinner here, which was very good. Filling breakfast and very amiable hosts and staff.
Disliked: Kettle! Needs a short extension lead - that on the kettle base is too short to reach the nearest socket without placing it on the floor.

a solid inn for a...

Liked: the area is super quiet but also conveniently close to the main roads, the hosts changed our rooms as there was no heating and moved us to big spacious rooms, the breakfast offered toasts and jam and also cooked options (they even considered my dietary restrictions as lactose intolerant) and the atmosphere at dinner was intimate and relaxed.

Disliked: Disposable paper cups in the room. 1 each for a 2 night stop. Requested crockery mugs, which we were givenMilk tots that were out of date, we couldn't drink the beverages. We did let them know, and we were given new ones.Served a pint of beer, which shouldn't have been. It was cloudy and the end of the barrel. Had to take it back, and it was exchanged.The lighting in the hallway and up the stairs to the bedroom was extremely poor. This, along with the handrail that in places you can't use, was a hazard. The combination of everything led to the poor review
