The Spotlight on The Jasmine House

Historic Elegance Meets Concert Convenience in Charleston

Set inside an 1843 Greek Revivalist mansion, The Jasmine House offers a relaxing, adult-only escape in Charleston's historic Ansonborough neighborhood. With its charming Southern architecture, sun terrace, and daily wine and cheese receptions, this boutique bed and breakfast blends timeless character with modern comforts. Just a quick drive from the City Market and major venues, it's a peaceful yet central base for your concert getaway.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert fans appreciate the quiet atmosphere after a loud night out, plus the flexibility of a 12pm checkout—perfect for sleeping in after a late show. Though not in the thick of nightlife, the B&B is a short ride from top Charleston music spots. The 24-hour front desk also means you can come and go after shows without worry, and the free WiFi makes it easy to post those setlist selfies.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a unique, communal space with Southern charm
  • Solo travelers wanting a peaceful escape close to the action
  • Couples making a romantic weekend out of a concert night
  • Fans needing a restful space after high-energy shows
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who value quality over frills

Food and Drink Options

While The Jasmine House doesn’t offer 24/7 dining, guests rave about the complimentary evening wine and cheese receptions—a perfect pre-show treat. The surrounding area has plenty of walkable eateries for late-night bites, and Charleston’s food scene is just minutes away. Breakfast service is available, so you can ease into your morning after a long night out.

Nightlife Options

Although the hotel itself is more about unwind than nightlife, you're just a short Uber or Lyft from Charleston’s buzzing bar and live music scene. Whether you're heading to a nearby venue or looking for a nightcap at a local lounge, options abound within a 10–15 minute drive.

What People Say

Guests consistently highlight the historic charm, friendly staff, and peaceful vibe. Many love the character of the rooms, especially those with private patios or gas fireplaces. The complimentary wine and cheese hour is frequently mentioned as a standout touch.

Areas for Improvement

This isn’t the place if you’re after a party atmosphere or modern hotel amenities. Some rooms can feel a bit dated to those expecting ultra-contemporary decor. Parking can be tricky, so arriving early or planning ahead is recommended.

The Bottom Line

A charming, quiet spot with historic flair, The Jasmine House is ideal for music lovers who want a restful, boutique escape after a night of unforgettable tunes.

Could be a gem! Great...

Liked: Perfect location on quiet street. Close to everything within easy walking distance.
Disliked: While I was impressed with the staff and the breakfast & happy hour offerings, my courtyard room was in dire need of refresh. Dark duty walls, dust and mold in the shower. Also the beautiful courtyard was not swept of leaves and just seemed unkept on a daily basis. That said, the house is beautiful & historic, just needs attention.

Great location for a Charleston...

Liked: Great location. We walked everywhere & there are lots of restaurants only a few steps away. Loved the breakfast treats, 5pm wine & appetizers & later proseco. We sat in the relaxing private courtyard & on the porch. The surprise local snack selections in the room was a delightful surprise. Leonard was very helpful as well.
