Welcoming, comfortable, friendly staff, good...

Liked: Breakfast was excellent for the price. Staff at checkin and at breakfast were very accommodating and welcoming. Very helpful. Location was good, easy to get into town centre for meeting on the morning, but prices were lower as not in city centre. I had everything I needed but the room definitely needs a refurbishment soon, all lovely otherwise. Free parking, plenty hot water.
Disliked: Room was very tired! Everything clean but really dated and basic. Carpet and divan base looked like they had been around a very long time. On two occasions I had to ask reception to help unlock the bedroom as there was a “technique” to unlocking the really old door lock.

Passable

Liked: Liked the location, staff were friendly and the food was nice.
Disliked: The decor was dated not like pictures on Booking, dirty bathroom wall, hole in bathroom door and the 70s hairdryer didn't work, view from room was of a messy back yard/farm.No plug sockets near the beds. Must remember the door does not lock so turn the handle!

Disappointing

Liked: The location was good and was easy to get to. Staff were Friendly
Disliked: The room needed updating. The carpet looked like it needed a good clean and so did the bed base, although the sheets looked clean. The room had a strange smell to it . The shower nearly scolded me with rapid changes in Temperature.. The room was noisy with the sound off running water through the plumbing disturbing my sleep

If your going to book...

Liked: Staff were polite.
Disliked: I was dissapointed when I entered the room.It would appear a couple of the rooms have been decorated and done up for a modern look. (These are the only ones shown on line). The rest are very outdated and need a lot of work. I booked a single and had to ask to move rooms as it had a really musty/damp smell although I was told i was the only one to mention it! I was offered a family room as an upgrade at £40.00. This room had similar decor but had no damp smell.

Good value for money and...

Liked: Room was quiet despite a noisy bar and lounge; Comfy bed, good breakfast and Vegan option was available, also I was able to get gluten free as I am a coeliac.
Disliked: Shower curtain to shower which leaked onto the floor.

Bad

Liked: The pub across the road.there really is nothing to like.it wasn't clean .one of our party had to move from room 28 because within minutes they were both bitten both were scratching as show to the lady who then moved them to room 14.which smelt better but it had lots of cobwebs.dust everywhere.we do have photos to prove the comments.there was nothing to like
Disliked: We were disappointed with both rooms .room 14 is a disabled shower but when floor was wet with soap water it became a skating ring had to hold onto handle.the bathroom was very dusty.the water was scolding hot a notice should be put on the sink saying caution water really hot on turning on. Photos to prove comments room 29 was better with a large TV on the wall but mould was behind and above the TV and above the bed.shower too dirty to contemplate using.the bath was in the bedroom with a plinth that stuck out too much so not much room to navigate the bathroom during the night.large gap under firedoor meaning smoke could enter the room while you were inside.mould to doorframe leading to shower.plenty of other faults too numerous to post
