Liked: Beautiful food and friendly staff location weather.
Disliked: D I Y breakfast, food great but getting coffee/tea... loading your own plate,no scrambled egg, which used to be available, limited coffee,tea and milk in the room,some B n B leave these available in the corridors so guest's can top up as required.

Extremely disappointing

Liked: View - but as our room was ground floor net curtains restricted it
Disliked: We phoned the night before to book dinner expecting it to be in the AA rated restaurant as featured on the website but this was closed and only bar meal available. Has apparently been closed for 2 months but website not updated and no mention when we bookedVery noisy and ineffective air extractor in bathroomRoom ok but basicHeating was off on arrival and again at 21:30Breakfast basic - no fruit, no pastries.

GReat couple of days in...

Liked: The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful.The hotel was very clean and well maintained.Both dining rooms were warm and welcoming with good food quality.Excellent bar especially the beer!The bedroom was very comfortable and exceptionally well decorated.
Disliked: Quite happy with everything.

Liked: In an absolutely beautiful peaceful setting.A very easy walk to the Dovedale stepping stones if you can climb one stile
Disliked: They need more staff to help the excellent people they have, in the evening it causes problems in the bar restaurant having to wait as the food is cooked fresh to order. Put your pretty garden in order.

Disliked: Facilities felt quite dated and in need of an overhaul. Evening meal in the bar - food was reasonable but way overpriced. Breakfast was busy and rather chaotic, with things like milk and toast running out.
