Enjoyable stay

Liked: Given a top floor room overlooking the pool and ocean, clean and very comfortable bed with drip filter coffee in room. Filtered water available in reception, breakfast items are sugar loaded but fresh pineapple and yoghurt was welcome. Staff friendly and helpful, thanks for assisting with opening a corked bottle! :)
Disliked: Really could have used a desk or table in the room. There was many chairs but no table! (other than the low table on the balcony). Made it uncomfortable to use my tablet when I needed to, which was often. Suggest to remove the two chairs and stool and replace with a sit-at table and chair.

Good location, everything else not...

Liked: Good location with ocean view. Staff were nice and helpful.
Disliked: Honestly, it felt like a glorified Days Inn. The beds were hard, and there were no phones in the room to call the lobby. No microwave was a bummer, so you can't heat up food in the fridge. There didn't seem to be a heating function in the air unit. Breakfast was sparse for a hotel claiming to be a resort. No elevator, so be prepared to lug your luggage up a few flights of stairs if on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Their morning church service on Easter woke us up promptly at 6:30am with music coming through speakers. What happened to quiet hours being between 10pm and 8am? Water pressure was no good. For $200-300 per night, I expect better imo.

It’s an old hotel but...

Liked: The grab and go breakfast was pretty decent and not really found at many hotels. The bag and bottle as a gift was pretty handy and useful. Morning yoga and free bikes was a great addition.
Disliked: The bikes did not have child car seat. Kids bike also not available. Will be great if we could also keep few of those for people with family to enjoy too! Keeping spare umbrellas for guests without car can be very handy too since it rains so much :)

Exceptional

Liked: Comfortable apartment with a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed yoga classes, bicycles and the swimming pool very much. Thank you for your hospitality!

Superb

Liked: The location is absolutely great for exploring the entire island, being situated right in the middle. The staff were wonderful, particularly the very friendly front desk team. Parking was ample and convenient, located right in front. The garden and pool area were well-kept and featured a cozy fireplace. The pool itself was very clean. The provided breakfast was decent, though coffee was missing from the main area (fortunately, there was a coffee machine in the room). We also enjoyed great views from the rooms. Plus, they offer free bike rental, which is a fantastic bonus!
Disliked: Despite the air conditioning, the air in the room felt a bit wet and moist. However, I chose to sleep with the door open to enjoy the fantastic sound of the breaking waves afterwards. Additionally, the TV wasn't working for me, but honestly, being in Hawaii, I didn't really need it anyway.

Liked: This was a wonderful property that felt like part of the community, surrounded by local businesses and using a responsible amount of land. We are so glad we stayed here instead of at a resort. Some favorites:1. Free bike rental with helmets available! The hotel is in such a bikeable area with easy access to the coastal trail.2. Breakfast was great--a nice variety for a free grab&go-- especially the fresh pineapple. 3. We loved the pool. We didn't do the sunrise yoga, but it was neat to see it every morning. 4. The ocean views and access were excellent, and the outdoor lighting was bright enough to feel safe but dim enough that you could see stars and the ocean at night-- unlike the resorts just south of us. We loved our private balcony.5. While there aren't laundry facilities on the premises, there's a great new laundromat just across the street. This was easy and convenient.6. The free water bottles and water were very helpful for staying hydrated on active Kauai days of hiking, biking, and kayaking. 7. Customer Service was consistently great.
