Funky place but dark and...
Liked: A small hip hotel with a fabulous location for accessing a great selection of small coffee shops/places to eat and easily walkable to downtown harbour. Had coffee/tea available on our floor and the shower pressure was great. Not able to visit the Puffin Bar which looked interesting. Guy at reception was very friendly and offered us some helpful restaurant tips. Unique decor and artwork.
Disliked: Poor lighting in the room which was smaller than expected with only one chair to sit in. The continental breakfast had no fruit or tea. I had to ask for tea which they made but thought it should have been available without asking. Our room faced the street and it was quite noisy on the Friday evening. We asked the hotel staff for a map as it was our first time in Wellington but they didn’t have anything and commented their printer was broken. Thought they should have been better prepared.

Trendy, modern ‘shabby chic’ industrial/warehouse...
Liked: Central location, within walking distance of all the main tourist attractions. Morning coffee and pastries served in downstairs bar were delicious. Tea and coffee station outside our room was also a hit.
Disliked: I found the black decor oppressive and felt claustrophobic in our room. The shower was badly planned and water drained all over the floor; the ‘servicing’ of the room didn’t include replacing the dripping wet bath mat, so it was still wet the next morning. The wardrobe and drawers are non-existent; there is nowhere to unpack a suitcase into, so it’s really only suitable for an overnight stay.
