The Inn on the Mile

A good place to stay if you want to be in the centre of things, but too noisy if you want peace at night.

Liked: Lovely room; attentive staff; brilliant porridge at breakfast; city centre.
Disliked: Situated beside a bar that doesn't shut until 3.30am. The designer bathroom was cold and the taps were difficult to figure out.

Liked: Location! And the staff at the Scotsman were very helpful.
Disliked: The bathroom is not great for many reasons. Also, It was pretty cramped in the room- furniture was too large for the space. Lots of ruffians at the hotel door at all hours. Super loud outside throughout the night. Would have eaten at the restaurant but the service was not good.

Perfect for my 1 day...

Liked: The location of the hotel was perfect since I was mostly staying near the Royal Mile. It is literally in the middle, can't go wrong there! The only downside for me was I had a suitcase and a bag that I had to lug all the way to the top floor since there are no elevators, brutal after a 7.5 hour flight and no sleep. Otherwise, quite lovely!

Great location, charming room!

Liked: Fantastic location, central to so many things. Lovely room. Very small hotel, not a lot of guests.
Disliked: I would give this 10/10 if it had an elevator. Without that, 9/10.
