All in all, we were...

Liked: The main house was a great gathering space. A big hall with a bar and funky antiques. For our purposes, the location was excellent and the countryside is magnificent.
Disliked: No breakfast was available; the staff was quite indifferent and offered no assistance in helping us, two 80 year olds, with getting our baggage to the cottage.

Awful. Husband slept in car.

Disliked: We could not turn the heat off. Had to leave door open all night. Bed was very uncomfortable.

Passable

Disliked: We have stayed there before quite awhile ago but feel that the room is very tired and the furnishings and bed needs updating. Breakfast is no longer offered which was disappointing because of the location. They gave us a sheet with some options which also were disappointing.

Exceptional

Liked: No breakfast but I was able to make tea in my room . A nice refrigerator and microwave. It felt like a little house.

Clean and comfortable....not luxury at...

Liked: Staff at Guest Registration was very friendly and welcoming. Location was very central to our planned activities. Historic charm. Room was very clean
Disliked: No daily maid service, unless requested. The fabric on the chairs was visibly threadbare. Looked a bit shabby.

Liked: Grab & Go breakfast was good & a timesaver, especially eating this in the great hall area.
