The Spotlight on The Inglenook Hotel

Classic Comfort with a Pub Vibe Just Outside Bognor Regis

A charming, traditional-style hotel with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, The Inglenook Hotel is set in Bognor Regis and pairs countryside calm with easy access to nearby music venues. Housed in a characterful building, this family-run spot offers classic decor, cozy rooms, and an award-winning on-site pub that brings a local flair to your stay.

Why Concert-goers love it

With its location just a short drive from Bognor Regis’s live music venues and only 30 miles from the vibrant scenes of Brighton and Portsmouth, this hotel is ideal for fans who want a peaceful place to crash post-show. The free private parking is a bonus for those driving in for a gig, and the relaxed check-in from 14:00 gives you time to settle in before the night starts. Rooms are spread over two floors and well insulated, meaning you're set for a quiet recovery after a loud night.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends wanting a homey base with a classic pub downstairs
- Solo travelers checking a local gig off their bucket list
- Couples looking to combine a concert with a romantic weekend (some rooms even have four-poster beds!)
- Fans needing a quieter retreat after a big night out
- Budget-conscious music-lovers who still want charm and comfort

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and award-winning pub serve up hearty meals and a fine selection of ales. While there's no 24-hour room service, the pub and restaurant make it easy to grab something satisfying after a show. Tea and coffee facilities in-room are great for a late-night wind-down or morning pick-me-up, and breakfast is available to help you recover from the night before.

Nightlife Options

You don’t have to go far to keep the vibe going—the hotel's own pub is a go-to for locals and guests alike, with a friendly, lively atmosphere. For a more energetic night out, Brighton and Portsmouth are reachable within an hour and offer everything from live indie gigs to DJ sets and craft cocktail lounges.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, comfortable beds, and the charm of the pub. Many mention the relaxing atmosphere and say it’s ideal for decompressing after a big night. The Jacuzzi tubs and four-poster beds in some rooms are often highlighted as standout features, giving your stay a touch of luxury.

Areas for Improvement

The Wi-Fi speed can be a bit spotty in some areas, and there’s no lift—so if you’re carrying gear or luggage, pack light if you’re upstairs. That said, the staff are always happy to help if you need an extra hand.

The Bottom Line

The Inglenook Hotel is a cozy, character-filled base for concert-goers wanting a relaxing and affordable stay within reach of Bognor Regis and beyond.

A little gem

Liked: The barman Frankie I think was great. Worked really hard. We ate in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. Second time staying will definitely come back.
Disliked: Traffic noise woke us early. Window was open as too hot.

Disappointment at Pagham

Liked: Its location in the village of Pagham.
Disliked: My bedroom (no.4) located on first floor, accessed via a steep and unforgiving staircase, was about as far from the reception area as it is possible to be. The en-suite shower room was so small as to be almost impossible to use comfortably and the fittings were all tired and shabby.
