The Independence Hotel

Excellent hotel in a nice...

Liked: We really loved this hotel and the town of Independence. This was by far the best hotel experience we've had in quite a while and we stay in a lot of hotels. Nathan at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and engaging. The location of the hotel on the river and a short 2 blocks from restaurants was great. We enjoyed taking a drink up to the rooftop each evening and the very large and very hot, hot tub. The room had everything we needed, plenty of light, enough chairs, a comfortable bed, good water pressure, a make-up mirror and much more that is often lacking in hotels. We liked our stay so much that we are planning to go back in a couple of months. The town has good restaurants and the people were very friendly.
Disliked: The bar could stay open a little later, but really there were no issues at all.

Disliked: Need to check shower amenities and lightbulbs in lamps. Pillow had ink mark . Wall by bed needed to be wiped down , soiled. Finishing touches like paper towels or a dish towel would have helped. Tv instructions would be helpful. Balcony needed to be wiped down , spider webs.

Liked: The proximity to the park and restaurants was perfect
Disliked: We ended up staying in two different rooms because I extended a night. Both rooms were out of body wash in the showers, which is pretty minor, but a little annoying. One room was out of toilet paper, and I had to restock it and they just seemed under staffed. Breakfast was listed as exceptional, but it really was just a regular continental breakfast, and the poor people trying to run the front desk, were the same people trying to stock breakfast.
