Uncomfortable, dated and left to...

Liked: Its location
Disliked: So very old and tired now and in a real state of disrepair.Room was boiling hot and door to balcony locked so would only open one inch. The crappy fan provided didn’t help.Hottest day of the year and the outdoor pool was closed for maintenance - having looked at it no work was being carried out and it looked like it needed replacing entirely before reopening.Spa area was old and grim. Went down to look but didn’t even bother using it after looking at it for 5 mins.

Liked: The room was good ,the view from the balcony was excellent we overlooked Torbay .
Disliked: The outdoor swimming pool was out of action but it did not affect us much. The car park should be free not £10 per night

Disliked: The fact that the outdoor pool is closed as that was one of the reasons that we booked this hotel, we weren't notified when booking and only found out 1 week before the stay, too late to change hotels as there was a music festival & sailing week on and everywhere was booked.

Disliked: Bedroom far too small no windows only patio doors which can’t leave open at night no space in bedroom to put cases away solid bed no space above wardrobe so made space even smaller chair at dressing table dirty worn cloth horsehair filling was so uneven couldn’t sit on comfortable and actually tipped over ! Dangerous I’m only 8 stone any one heavier could seriously injure themselves ! Bin wasn’t emptied for 3 days bathroom door filthy carpet stains Beautiful terrace and patio but needs foliage cutting down as can’t see and appreciate sea view when sitting outside swimming pool shut shouldn’t have to pay £8.50 a night to park car in hotel grounds !!!! Luxury hotel - but a...

Liked: The Imperial is an impressive older style hotel. We wanted a short luxury trip and did get that. Excellent and attentive staff, wonderful location and amazing breakfasts.
Disliked: Like many before us we felt The Imperial was a tad faded glory but it was good. Spacious and clean room although the mattresses were less so and were stained! Bits of broken glass on the balcony.
