Great stay

Liked: Location was excellent near all the shops - piece halls - bars restaurants - Hotel warm and comfortable staff very pleasant and helpful
Disliked: There was nothing to dislike

A comfortable stay

Liked: The Hotel was in a good location for the purpose of my visit to Halifax. The room was rather small, although it was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom contained a good shower. Breakfast was good with plenty to chose from. The overnight Car Parking rate at £5.00 per night was good, it was situated about 2 minutes from the Hotel. The staff were very pleasant.
Disliked: A bigger room would have been nice, but it didn't create a problem. There were quite a few stairs to climb, which could be an issue for somebody with health issues

Great for a concert stopover,...

Liked: Staff very helpfull, cheerfull. Breakfast exceptional value.
Disliked: Car park a short walk away, ok for us but could be an issue for less able people. View from window into builders yard, but hotel can't control that!

One night in Halifax at...

Liked: Convenient location for access to the train station. Reasonably priced. Fairly spacious double room. Comfortable bed. Biscuits as well as tea and coffee provided in the room.
Disliked: Having to pay a £100 damage risk deposit - it's in the small print apparently. We paid in cash, though it was refunded the following morning on our departure after the room had been checked. Unfortunately, the room was also tired and shabby - in need of refurbishment.

Liked: Didn't even get passed reception
Disliked: After paying for my stay on line first to then be told on reception there's a 100 pound deposit to be paid aswell just for a hotel room apparently its in the small print on there part on booking. Com I drove from Plymouth to then not be able to stay

It was ok

Liked: The bed was comfy and staff were helpful and very friendly.
Disliked: Despite the negative reviews, I decided to book a stay at this place, and it was close for two days. Upon check-in, I was required to pay a £100 deposit, which seemed reasonable initially. However, upon entering my room, I was disappointed to find an untidy bathroom with a moldy bath curtain, stained floors, and an unpleasant smell. The condition was less than satisfactory. Moreover, there seemed to be no items of value in the room to justify such a hefty deposit. While it's common for hotels to retain card details for security, the £100 payment seemed excessive. It's been almost a week since I checked out, and I'm still waiting for my deposit to be refunded.

Disliked: This an unpleasant hotel. Horrible. Very tired and dated. Needs upgrades and a coat of paint throughout. Featureless , cold and bleak in communal areas. Room furniture old and grubby. There was no welcome at checkin and the only thing the receptionist was interested in was getting an additional £100 payment from me for a "reservation deposit" on top of the payment I had already made in advance. There was a party on the premises and the noise from that in the room when I was trying to sleep was unacceptable. What a dump.
