The Spotlight on The Hoxton Southwark

Industrial Chic Meets Music-Lover Convenience at The Hoxton Southwark

Modern, stylish and effortlessly cool, The Hoxton Southwark sits just a short walk from London’s South Bank, placing you close to iconic music venues and cultural hotspots. With its bold industrial design—think exposed concrete ceilings, bare brick walls, and Crittall-style windows—this hotel blends urban edge with warm hospitality. Add in thoughtful perks like free tea, coffee, WiFi, and even 1-hour international calls, and you've got a comfortable, connected stay in the heart of the city.

Why Concert-goers love it

The Hoxton Southwark is ideally located for music fans heading to legendary spots like the Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall, or even smaller venues tucked around the area. Its cool, laid-back vibe makes it easy to wind down after a show, and the late 12:00 check-out is a dream for those who’ve danced into the early hours. With London Bridge and Blackfriars stations nearby, late-night transport options are solid. Rooms are surprisingly quiet for a central location, so you can rest up post-concert without any unexpected noise.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish base near nightlife
  • Solo travelers chasing a once-in-a-lifetime gig
  • Couples turning a concert into a romantic weekend
  • Fans who want a calm, design-savvy space to recharge
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want quality

Food and Drink Options

You won’t go hungry at The Hoxton Southwark. There's a rooftop restaurant with stunning views and a laid-back vibe, perfect for pre- or post-show bites. Grab a bite in the lobby or mezzanine dining area, or stock your in-room fridge with goods from the lobby shop at supermarket prices. While 24/7 room service isn’t listed, the flexible dining options and nearby eateries make late-night snacking easy. Breakfast is available—a welcome treat after a late night out.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel doesn’t host live music on-site, its prime location means you’re just minutes from buzzing bars, pubs, and lounges on the South Bank and beyond. Chill out at the hotel’s rooftop bar for drinks with a view, or explore nearby hidden cocktail spots and local craft pubs for a more intimate vibe.

What People Say

Guests love the stylish decor and great location, often mentioning how easy it is to reach major venues and attractions. The vibe is described as hip without being pretentious, and reviewers consistently praise the comfy beds, friendly staff, and thoughtful in-room amenities like the mini fridge and premium toiletries.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests have noted that rooms can be on the smaller side, especially if you’re traveling with lots of gear. The industrial design, while trendy, might not appeal to everyone. And while there’s no on-site parking, public transport is plentiful.

The Bottom Line

The Hoxton Southwark is a stylish, well-located base for concert-goers who want comfort, cool vibes, and easy access to London’s top music venues.

Good location, nice infrastructure, so/so...

Liked: Modern hotel with kind reception staff. Good bed and clean room. Close to the Southwark underground station and in walking distance to the center (it shows on the price).
Disliked: Modern hotel trying to not look like an hotel. The reception is a small desk hidden away in the ground floor, that looks more like a bar and a lunch restaurant.Breakfast staff is kind, but follows rigid rules and it is not really helping. When I went for breakfast I was first sent back to a lady waiting at the entrance of the bar area (half floor away), that took me back to the "restaurant" area where she insisted to place me in a small table with wind coming from outside while 3 bigger tables in a quieter area were free, using the FAKE excuse that she had them booked, but then nobody showed up in the next hour.Breakfast menu is quite limited and my first choice on the second day was not even available. My choice from the first morning was "bland" at best... that is not something you would associate to tortilla or wrap.

Good

Disliked: Adjoining room as a solo traveller wasnt entirely comfortable. I could hear the couple next door and felt slightly on edge being on my own. I would've preferred a room without a door.

Liked: Location, decor, bathroom
Disliked: Mattress was really soft in room 412. Gave me back ache. Also didn’t like a charitable donation adding onto the bill. This isn’t appropriate
