The Spotlight on The Hoxton Portland

Chic, artsy base in the heart of downtown Portland

The Hoxton Portland is a modern, design-forward hotel that blends sleek comfort with Portland’s creative energy. Nestled in the city’s vibrant Old Town Chinatown district, it’s just a short walk or ride away from major concert halls and live music venues. With curated decor, local artwork, and sweeping views of Mount Hood from the rooftop, it’s an inviting stay for music lovers looking for more than just a place to crash.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything when you’ve got tickets in hand, and The Hoxton delivers. You’ll be close to some of Portland’s key venues and late-night transportation options, with plenty of nearby bars and restaurants to keep the night going. Plus, with a 24-hour front desk and 12:00 pm checkout, there’s no rush to roll out after a late night. The hotel’s stylish but laid-back vibe also makes it a great place to decompress post-show.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a trendy base near the action
  • Solo travelers chasing a bucket-list gig
  • Couples turning a concert into a romantic city weekend
  • Fans seeking a cool but quiet space to recover
  • Budget-conscious music lovers seeking stylish value (Shoebox rooms are small but chic!)

Food and Drink Options

The Hoxton has your cravings covered, from early coffee runs to midnight snacks. Grab breakfast or all-day bites at Lovely Rita, enjoy rooftop tacos and cocktails with skyline views at Tope, or slip downstairs into 2NW5, the underground speakeasy bar, for a nightcap. While there’s no 24/7 room service, you’re never far from a great plate or drink.

Nightlife Options

Whether you’re pre-gaming or winding down, The Hoxton’s got options. The on-site rooftop bar serves strong drinks with a view, while the speakeasy downstairs offers a more intimate atmosphere. Step outside and you’re in one of Portland’s most happening nightlife zones, with bars, lounges, and live music spots just blocks away.

What People Say

Guests rave about the hotel’s stylish rooms, friendly service, and fantastic location for exploring downtown Portland. The rooftop bar and speakeasy get special mentions for atmosphere and quality. Many also appreciate the thoughtful design touches and the curated local art throughout the property.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms, especially the Shoebox category, can be on the cozy side—great for solo travelers, but a tight squeeze for big luggage or longer stays. Some guests mention occasional street noise, so light sleepers may want to request a higher floor or bring earplugs, just in case.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers wanting a stylish, central spot with great vibes, food, and nightlife, The Hoxton Portland hits all the right notes.

Great hotel in a challenging...

Liked: Lovely old refurbished building, great bedroom with fab views through dual aspects. Loved the retro vibe and views from the room on the eighth floor across cityscape to green hills. Genuinely warm welcome and helpful crew, quick check in and out with room upgrade much appreciated.
Disliked: The local neighbourhood is confronting to an overseas visitor , I’m not a country mouse, (I’ve lived in Glasgow, London and Melbourne ) After checking in we felt feeling reluctant to wander at night and even during the day left bewildered by the homelessness and obvious drug culture on all surrounding streets. Portland clearly has an overwhelming problem it needs to address before the city just shuts up shop to visitors in the downtown area particularly.

Nice hotel; rough neighborhood

Liked: Nice hotel. I’m familiar with Brooklyn NY location as well.
Disliked: Neighborhood in Portland surrounding hotel is in decline with shuttered businesses/restaurants, tents on sidewalks and apparent homeless persons loitering. I didn’t feel unsafe, just depressed.
