Our stay was just perfect...

Liked: It was so elegant , I loved the waiter and the beautiful silver klosh. The location was perfect and the staff were lovely.
Disliked: Our room was a little warm

Bad experience

Liked: Close to things
Disliked: Room service was yuck looked like it was frozen and heated.Room was small and old.No one helped us luggage wise.Breakfast was ok but the waitress dropped orange juice all over us and our friends coat. Definitely won't recommend

Historic charm, but dated and...

Liked: - Good location, especially if you intend of going to the theatre. Close to Bourke St. Swanson St. etc. - Easy access via Parliament Station or various tram options. - Rooms are large - If you’re after the historic feel, it definitely has that. Many people choose this hotel for that reason!
Disliked: - Old and dated, carpet walking to the room needs a good vacuum. The lift is dirty and needs a good clean. - Bathroom amenities weren’t included, although there was bath soap and shower gel. - Taps in the bathroom were broken (aesthetically, not functionally). - The toilet needed to be flushed so many times to work and then the water would continue running. The hotel, for what you pay, in my opinion is missing some final touches. Check in is 3pm, they tried their best to accomodate an early check in. And I appreciated the hour I got for late check out.

Liked: Great location, huge rooms and a comfortable bed in a beautiful old hotel.

A weekend in Melbourne

Liked: Excellent location for my purposes. Lovely room. Comfortable bed. Taking breakfast in the dining room was a real treat with full service. The architecture is beautiful olde world style which I enjoyed seeing.
Disliked: It is an old building and creaking of the floor boards was noticeable, even from adjoining rooms. There was a tendency for the bathroom sink taps to drip unless turned off maximally tight.
