Great place to stay in...

Liked: Perfect location and a lovely old building.
Disliked: The building is a bit tired, but that is understandable given its age

Faded glory

Liked: Did not have breakfast. I needed to work and the room did not have a desk or table - staff brought in a table which was lovely. Hotel is faded glory and the bathroom was awful but it was OK for 4 nights. Location is fantastic
Disliked: Bathroom and everything needed sprucing up

Exceptional

A great location.

Liked: Excellent location in the heart of Bendigo.
Disliked: The hotel is somewhat faded and our room, although spacious, was was rather dingy and had no view.

The room was a dog...

Liked: Position at table on balcony for the Easter Fair but at $50 dollars a head (with one free drink) it should have been good.
Disliked: Dog box of a room. Filthy carpet and chairs. Dingy. I have taken photos of this. No table to sit / eat at. Three of us staying so I had to ask for another chair. Fridge and kettle were in a cupboard (had to boil kettle in the cupboard above the fridge....) but no where to eat or place any food etc. Goods provided to enable us to wash our cups etc - but no plug for the bathroom sink. Holiday weekend so "they couldn't purchase another plug for our use". Totally opposite to photos of the Hotel on line. Even the names given to the room we were in varied on line causing confusion. Off loading luggage parking out the front of the Hotel was limited and full of other cars for awhile when we arrived. Trolley for taking bags to and from our room were ancient (in keeping with old Hotel) - but too heavy and difficult to manoeuvre into the small antiquated lift even with two of us working on it. Car was locked away in local car park so we couldn't access it easily to travel anywhere else (Easter weekend)

Very good

Liked: We love staying at the Shamrock. Location is ideal. Staff always friendly and helpful. Love the feeling of history in the building. We'll be back again the next time we are in Bendigo.

Lovely location

Disliked: View out the second bedroom was just thick piles of pigeon poop. It was very disturbing.
