Served its purpose. Cheap and...
Liked: Room available at short notice just for one night. Convenient. Ease of booking. No frills. For £53 for one night we weren't expecting it to be luxurious.
Disliked: No breakfast available, but we were warned.

Hills have eyes/ bates motel...
Liked: It’s was to a basic level of cleanliness around a 5/10. For me the bed had clean white sheets and the toilet was clean.
Disliked: Where to start…. The place looks good to start with on here and the pictures, it’s very deceiving!! It gives bates motel vibes, it’s extremely basic and definitely isn’t worth the £50 a night stay. There is constant moving about and banging from other guest, the place has a name for itself locally (knocking shop). The area it’s placed in, if you didn’t drive you couldn’t get anywhere as when I looked for public transport a guy said the bus is usually only twice a day along here and then your lucky! The WiFi drops out all the time, however this could be that I was placed right at the end of the block, downstairs and the closest to the duel carriage way at the back and side of the premises with vehicles travelling all minute long very close to you.

Passable
Liked: Bed was comfy
Disliked: Covered in bites, like flea bites down my legs. My partner couldn’t believe how hot the rooms are and no air con or fan provided. Literally a sweat box. Just run down. Really weird vibe to this “hotel”. Said I didn’t check in and got charged a no show fee when we literally stayed at the hotel. Rang and staff come across rude.

Very pleasant family run hotel.
Liked: It's very similar to a US motel, the staff are very polite, it's a family-run hotel, during our stay, the hotel was being fully redecorated with no noise disturbance when at the hotel, there is no eatery on site, but there are plenty of good choices just a short drive away. I will definitely be returning.
Disliked: My only point would be the amount of vehicles coming and going during the night, mainly taxi's waiting for their next call, maybe worth considering a room key accessible barrier at a future date to limit vehicles to staff and guests only.

Exactly as 'stated on the...
Liked: This motel was simply superb for the money. The lady that checked me in was really lovely. She gave me a better room with no extra charges. The room was excellent, clean, tidy, with fresh towels and cosmetics. The bed provided was very comfortable and evereything was clean and tidy. I have no complaints at all for less than £50 per night. The location is out of the way, although very close to a busy main road, which was surprisingly loud at times. The motel site itself is excellent, with good parking facilities and surrounded by trees.
Disliked: I really don't have any complaints. It was obvious that the Motel has been undergoing a degree of refurbishment in places. There is clearly a little way to go. But, overall, it was fine. I noted a number of poor reviews online, from my perspective most seemed unwarrented. Yes there is a caravan, ice cream van, and a couple of other vehicles in the car park - so what?!!?? There was stil ample secure parking, and it made no difference to my stay. If you want luxury, go elsewhere. If you want a nice comfortable stay at remarkably competitive prices, then the Hotel Rafiya is perfectly fine.
