Disappointing

Liked: The facility was bad and asked for a different room and they overly charged for a mediocre room with bad quality bathrooms.
Disliked: Restrooms and amenities, very bad quality

Comfortable rooms with Pleasant staff

Liked: Historic building with much character and nice facilities and the rooms.
Disliked: Building is showing its age and could use some upkeep but overall considering the location and small community one shouldn’t expect too much in a poor area.

Don’t!!

Liked: The history of the property
Disliked: Was created by a cockaroach the carpet had dark stains on it very dusty no forks in the kitchen

Fantastic

Liked: Fantastic! You see right from the outside that the hotel is beautifully renovated and maintained historic building. Our room fitted the atmosphere, clean, comfy with a historic touch. Our girls felt like princesses, that’s what they told me ;) There was even a room with a fireplace on the ground floor where guests gathered to chat. For sure best base for visiting star nights at McDonald Observatory.

Disliked: to be honest I expected to have a room in the main building; but the givenroom turned out to be fine

Exceptional

Liked: Location was great for Ft. Davis and the McDonald Observatory. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean with modern furnishings and fixtures. Quiet and dark for an easy night's rest.

This was my second stay...

Liked: It was clean and quiet
Disliked: It was a little late (9pm) when we did the check in and there was no one to guide us to where our room was located. Our room was across the street, it wasn't on the same building.

Disliked: Nothing special about the hotel.
