The Spotlight on The Hotel at Midtown

Luxury Meets Location for Music Lovers

Modern, wellness-focused hotel in Chicago’s vibrant Midtown neighborhood, The Hotel at Midtown blends boutique comfort with high-end athletic club perks. Just minutes from major concert venues like United Center and Wrigley Field, this upscale stay offers a unique mix of fitness, relaxation, and style. With sleek rooms, spa access, and free parking, it’s a refreshing home base for a music-filled weekend.

Why Concert-goers love it

Concert-goers love The Hotel at Midtown for its close proximity to top venues—just a quick rideshare to United Center or Wrigley Field. After a high-energy night out, guests can unwind in the spa, sauna, or whirlpool, or opt for a gentle yoga class the next day. The hotel’s free parking is a major bonus for those driving in, and the 24-hour front desk ensures smooth late-night check-ins. While not smack in the middle of downtown, its quieter location makes it ideal for post-show recovery without sacrificing access.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to blend music and fitness
  • Solo travelers wanting a safe, stylish space after a big show
  • Couples combining concerts with a wellness weekend
  • Fans needing downtime after a loud night out
  • Budget-conscious music fans who value free parking and access to top-tier amenities

Food and Drink Options

While The Hotel at Midtown doesn’t offer 24/7 room service, it does have on-site dining options available through the Athletic Club, and the surrounding area has plenty of walkable eateries. It’s easy to grab a bite post-show, and breakfast is available for those who sleep in after a late night.

Nightlife Options

Though the hotel doesn’t feature on-site live music, it’s a short drive to some of Chicago’s best concert venues and local bars. The on-site bar offers craft cocktails in a relaxed setting—perfect for a pre-show drink or an easy nightcap.

What People Say

Reviews praise the hotel’s immaculately clean rooms, luxurious spa facilities, and top-notch fitness options. Guests also love the free parking, quiet atmosphere, and proximity to key attractions. Many call it a “hidden gem” for those wanting something beyond a typical hotel stay.

Areas for Improvement

The hotel’s location, while peaceful, isn’t within walking distance to most venues, so rideshare or a short drive is usually required. Also, if you're not into wellness or fitness, some amenities may feel underused.

The Bottom Line

If you're a concert-goer who wants to recharge in style, The Hotel at Midtown offers a wellness-focused retreat just minutes from Chicago’s biggest stages.

Concert getaway

Liked: All the amenities, restaurant and grab counter were great. Classes were fun and gym was clean. Loved being able to have in and out privileges for our car.
Disliked: Needing to drive everywhere instead of places being within walking distance. But I am thankful the hotel had in and out privileges so we did not need to worry about extra parking charges. You just bring your parking ticket to the front desk and they validate your exit which was really nice.

Awesome, but too loud to...

Liked: Everyone and the all the staff I ran into were great. It's a strange hotel/gymMy only complaint was it was so LOUD I was on the fourth floor. It sounded like some one was continuously bowling or dropping dumb bells right above me all night. That or people slamming the sliding bathroom doors. Then the construction that started right next to me early was so loud with drills and saws, I couldn't talk on my cell phone with out people hearing it.It was super comfortable and clean. JUST DIDNT Sleep due to noise. They give you earplugs, and i downloaded a sound app just to drown it out. However, the booms throughout the night just kept startling you up.Im not sure why I had an extra resort fee added. It did the trick. If I wanted to work out etc it would be a great hotel. However, I was recommend this place by the Sarabande for an expo.I was a very unrestful night for having to go to an all day expo.Staff was supberb.
Disliked: The noise.

Such a fun time with...

Liked: It smelled clean, the beds were cozy, the staff was soooo friendly and the amenities were great
Disliked: The times the amenities were open. We wish the sauna was open later. Also, opening at 7 for coffee felt late for us early birds!

Not a luxury hotel.

Liked: The breakfast was horrible. I asked for a sausage egg and cheese sandwich. I asked for scrambled eggs and got over easy eggs, It was very messy. The sausage was thick, the eggs runny and I couldn't even eat it. Threw it away. I was there for work so it was very convenient to where I was working
Disliked: I didn't like the entrance. You barely know it is there because it is tucked in a corner. Even when I called an Uber they had trouble finding it. It is not a typical hotel entrance. I didn't like that the doors were not automatic. It wasn't easy to get through with my luggage. I didn't like that nothing was open when I checked in on Sunday evening. I specifically asked if there was a bar because I needed a drink, and they said yes. What they didn't tell me what that it was closed. I didn't like the shower. There was nowhere to put my toiletries, so I had to put them on the floor. It is very loud. You can hear the weights banging on the floor, especially at 5 am in the morning. I did go to the bar one night to order a glass of wine. I wanted to bring it to my room. They don't allow you to take the glass to the room. I can't drink wine out of a plastic cup.
