Cosy traditional hostelry with excellent...

Liked: Fabulous country inn, hosted and staffed by incredibly friendly helpful people. Plenty of parking and pretty garden/ outside drinking space. Comfortable bedroom with lots of nice unusual touches. Very comfortable bed.Excellent restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was superb.
Disliked: The only thing I could fault was the shower. The bathroom was spacious and it seemed a shame to put such a tiny shower cubicle in such a generous space. There wasn't a holder for personal toiletries in there so shampoo etc had to go on the floor with hardly any room to bend down to access them.

A perfect stay

Liked: A friendly greeting on arrival indicated how The Horse and Groom values its guests. Despite being very busy the service was excellent and our room was really clean, comfortable and well designed.It is a very old building and the grounds and public areas are in perfect condition.We enjoyed our stay and will certainly recommend it.
Disliked: We have no negative comments.

Perfect place for a romantic...

Liked: Loved all the traditional stone work/wooden beams and the coziness of the place. The staff were lovely….friendly, warm and helpful…nothing too much trouble

Poor and overcharged

Disliked: Very dated room, has not been renovated for a while, ceiling had signs of erosion and leak marks down the wall.

Comfortable short stay

Liked: Comfortable short stay. Lots of lovely touches in the room. Fridge with fresh milk and vbottled water provided. Lovely jar of cookies. Bed comfortable and we slept well. Great Al A Carte breakfast choices. Would definately stay again. We didn't eat in the evening - but would another time - menu look good.
Disliked: Bar closes early. Staff we wanting to close up by 9pm.
