This mid-18th century former inn offers unique rooms free Wi-Fi and excellent views of Rye. Built around 1750 for local sailors and ship builders The Hope Anchor is thought to have once sheltered the Tenterden Gang who used its old secret passages for smuggling. Relax beside the log fire in traditional cozy bar and enjoy the individually styled bedrooms some of which have a four poster bed. In the morning enjoy a delicious traditional full English breakfast or if you prefer a lighter continental breakfast of cold meats and cheeses yogurt and fresh fruit salad or maybe even have both!! all served in our breakfast room. (Please note we do not serve lunches or evening meals) Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.4 for a two-person trip. We speak your language! Enjoyable stay in Rye -...

Liked: Close to the town centreFriendly lady on arrival Good service- towels changed daily and tea etc topped up
Disliked: Bed was on a slope - felt like was sliding out of it but guess it is because the building is old- shower was awful - just a trickle so couldn’t wash hair while there Had to park some distance away as no parking available ( although we were made aware of this )
