Excellent, friendly, comfortable, delicious breakfast,...
Liked: It was clean, everything to hand that was needed. We were impressed with how the coped with the Southern Water problem. We obviously weren’t able to shower through no fault of theirs

Superb hotel but if you...
Liked: Lovely hotel. Beautiful views. Great breakfast with good variety. Airy room. Staff very helpful. Nice white sheets and towels that dried well. Bath with shower head. Room was small with bathroom down two steps with table and wardrobe in betetween could be an issue for less able but was fine. Distant views were good.
Disliked: If you are less mobile then you may consider this not the hotel for you. There's a short flight of steps to get into the hotel and you have stairs to go up to rooms on two floors above. Ask for the lower floor. The owners alert you to the Council's decision not to grant parking. Rye is steep and has lots of cobbled streets including up to and around the hotel. You can, if space is available, park outside the hotel from 6 pm to 9 am each day. The enforcers are diligent. Expect ticket if you are outside these hours. There are car parks within 5 to 20 minute walks if you are speedy. Drive up Mermaid St and right at the top past the church and right again to drive to the hotel at the end. Park up and drop luggage and repark if before 6pm. You can park in the main street 6 or 7 mins away for 80 p for 2 hours and overnight. The hotel is great. Rye Council seem to be at war with older, less able and disabled people. Parking is for residents. Fine, but during the day, lots of residents permits places are empty, unsurprisingly. There are very very few disabled spaces and non anywhere near the hotel. It a shame for the hotel but doesn't seem to affect trade. If you are less mobile however, you are likely to find the Council policy on parking one you are not prepared to attempt to manoeuvre around. Go elsewhere and visit for a day.
