Good overall but some significant...

Liked: Modern property, nicely designed. Comfortable bed, spacious room and bathroom. Complimentary water. Large windows that can be opened for ventilation. USB sockets next to the bed. Full size mirror and adjustable desk lamp that can be used for makeup. Bathrobes. The breakfast is very good with lots of eggs options cooked on request and can even be packed for takeaway.
Disliked: King room that I stayed in was above the bowling facility and the noise from rolling balls was very disturbing until they closed (some time after 9pm). The water in the shower can not be adjusted beyond a certain maximum hot point, which is the minimum hot I would have for my shower, but definitely not hot enough for a hot bath. Bathroom doesn't have enough surface to put your toiletries on. Heater/towel rail in the bathroom was off and couldn't be turned on. Bathroom light is automatic, switches on in the night when you don't want it, and turns off after a short time of inactivity. No way to turn it off and no smaller light option. No gym.

Great hotel but beware of...

Liked: Modern hotel woth massive bedrooms and comfortable bed.
Disliked: Local residents able to bring there dogs into the restaurant area , dogs wandering around restaurant when you are having breakfast dinner was off-putting and they are all over the chairs . Not everyone is a dog lover and I witnessed a couple leave the restaurant before finishing there breakfasts due to 2 dogs freely roaming around the restaurant whilst the owners had coffee on the sofas .

Hotel nice, rooms nice, good...

Liked: Breakfast was good (poached eggs on toast with Avocado and mushrooms). The bowling was good especially as there was a half price offer. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The menu on Sunday evening was reduced even though there wasn’t any Sunday lunches available after 5pm, so we couldn’t understand why the menu was so restricted once the roast dinners were no longer available. Ordered the soup to start which had no taste at all. The chicken burger for main was okay but at £16 seemed expensive when the chicken used was not even chicken breast and the meat element of the burger was actually quite small. The service in the restaurant was slow and they weren’t particularly attentive, checking for extra drinks etc. I would expect the service to be better, especially when I realised they added 12.5% service charge. 10% is standard, and while 12.5% isn’t massively unreasonable, I would expect them to back it up with good service in the restaurant. The sports bar was very busy due to a football match, and as i walked into the hotel with my 11 year old daughter to check in there was a man in reception that was a patron of the bar on his phone using the fu*k word multiple times.
