Liked: Location brilliant, value excellent.
Disliked: Location brilliant, value for money. It was clean, spacious room, a good shower. The tea coffee was ample. Loved didn't have to ask for extra anything. Would stay here again.

Disliked: We arrived at the Groves Inn after spending a long day at the Great Yorkshire show. I had tried on a number of occasions to contact the hotel the evening before to book a table, but their phone would not take incoming calls. When we arrived, we were told that there was no food as there was no chef, so we decided to head home and asked if we could cancel, which it appeared we were able to do. Since then, we have been charged for the stay and when I enquired why this was, someone replied from the hotel that although the person on the bar said we could cancel, they didn't say that we weren't getting charged. An unbelievable excuse made by the hotel is that we were rude to the staff, which is a total lie. We had a very brief conversation with 1 member of staff and we told them that if there was no food, we would rather not stay: at no time were we rude to the member of staff and I can say that she was not rude to us: it was not that kind of conversation. Aside from this, the photos on Booking.com really make the place look a lot nicer than it is and even we had decided to stay, it would have been a disappointment after how nice the place was depicted on the website.

Disliked: Nothing bad really stairs a bit steep and narrow but it was a old building and maybe a problem when live bands are on
