THE GROVES INN

Knaresborough is a great place...

Liked: Location of the Groves is fantastic. Right on the doorstep of the town centre.Stayed here several times, always a friendly greeting. Sadly cannot comment on the breakfast as I think they have stopped offering this. In particular the rooms at the rear of the building offer a quiet ambience for a good nights sleep.
Disliked: It is a bit of a narrow passage way up to the top floor for the rooms but this should not deter you for the great location is worth it.

Disliked: Very dated and run down, carpets and windows filthy. I slept on the top of the bed as the mattress was unhygienic We were in 2 minds to stay but with if been bank holiday weekend had little choice Please don’t say here it needs serious improvements

Liked: Lovely place and very central to stay for 1 night.Bed was a bit uncomfortable, but overall great for location and staff was great and friendly.

Very enjoyable day locals were...

Liked: Location was perfect, no car park as olden days market place short walk to car park 1.90 for 24 hours.Whilst the furniture in bar area was old it was very clean, beer was fine, everything was a few minutes walk from us.
Disliked: For what we payed I'd be cheeky to pick up on anything, no breakfast but plenty of options nearby.
