A pleasant stay in a...

Liked: Staff were excellent - friendly and helpful.Our room was quite comfortable for a two-night stay. The rural location was lovely and just a few minutes drive out of Conwy.
Disliked: The room decor was decidedly tired and could do with refreshing paintwork etc. at the end of the season.The coffee was tasteless and the toast was burnt.

A beautiful welcoming place in...

Liked: The hotel is beautiful, in a gorgeous rural location. Our room was a wonderful surprise, with a private terrace overlooking fields and hills. We loved the beer garden and choice of ales. Service was friendly.
Disliked: Not much, but better knowledge of beers and less of a feeling of the staff rushing around to finish service at the end of the evening would be good.

A return visit that lived...

Liked: We like there being a breakfast buffet - cereal, juice, yoghurt etc - in addition to the cooked breakfast.Nice traditional pub dining area - Carpets etc mean that it isn't too noisy even when busy.
Disliked: Extractor fan and one light bulb not working in bathroom of room 15. We mentioned these when we checked out, so hopefully they will be fixed now.

Liked: The inn is lovely with lots of character. Good location. The rooms are clean and comfortable Staff are friendly
Disliked: We stayed at the Groes on a previous occasion and found the service in the restaurant to be to be efficient.However; on this occasion, although the staff were lovely; the service was slow.My husband and I don't like to be rushed through a meal; but it was slow even for us.We waited 20 minutes for an order to be taken for drinks in the restaurant. We sat down to eat at 7.00pm, it was 8.15pm before we ate.The restaurant wasn't busy.Breakfast was also slow, with a mediocre choice of buffet. My eggs royale was ok; but drowned in hollandaise sauce.We didn't comment at the time, as it appeared that the staff on duty were doing their best We will probably return to meet up with friends, as the location is ideal; however, we will expect a better restaurant service.

A Comfortable and pleasant stay...

Liked: Just returned from 3 nights at The Groes Inn We had a pleasantly decorated and extremely comfortable room. The breakfast was excellent and we ate in the restaurant which was also good. Every member of staff was professional, friendly and extremely helpful; a credit to the hotel. The views t the back were stunning. If visiting Conwy in the future we would not hesitate to return.
