The Spotlight on The Greyhound Inn

Charming Countryside Escape Within Reach of the Music Scene

Located in the heart of Gerrards Cross, just 6 miles from Uxbridge Tube Station, The Greyhound Inn blends traditional English charm with modern comforts. This character-filled inn offers a peaceful retreat with a garden, terrace, and cozy rooms—perfect for concert-goers looking to unwind after a high-energy night. With easy connections into London and free private parking, it’s a smart base for exploring the capital’s vibrant live music scene.

Why Concert-goers love it

Fans rave about how easy it is to reach London venues from here via the nearby Uxbridge station, while still enjoying a quieter, countryside vibe back at the hotel. The free parking is a major bonus for those driving in, and the bar and terrace make it easy to wind down after a show. Though check-in starts at 3:00 PM, the staff are helpful and flexible when it comes to late arrivals.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a laid-back stay with room to hang out
  • Solo travelers wanting a quiet night's sleep after a big concert
  • Couples planning a weekend getaway with a gig on the itinerary
  • Fans who prefer peace and quiet after the show ends
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who don’t mind staying just outside the city

Food and Drink Options

The on-site restaurant and bar serve up hearty meals and drinks, perfect for a late dinner after a show. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the hotel does offer flexible dining hours, and the nearby town has walkable options for a bite. Breakfast is available—ideal for those slow mornings after a late night out.

Nightlife Options

While The Greyhound Inn isn’t a nightlife hotspot itself, it’s a short ride from Uxbridge and West London, where you’ll find pubs, clubs, and live music venues. After the show, retreat to the inn's bar or enjoy a quiet drink on the terrace.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the friendly staff, clean rooms, and the relaxing garden setting. Many mention the excellent food served at the pub and the convenient access to London without the city chaos. It’s particularly popular with those driving in, thanks to the free parking and easy access to main roads.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests note that room decor is a bit traditional, which may not appeal to those seeking sleek, modern vibes. Also, while transport links are good, you’ll need to plan your Tube rides if attending late-night events in central London.

The Bottom Line

If you’re after a charming, peaceful stay with easy access to London’s live music venues, The Greyhound Inn hits all the right notes.

Room too small for a...

Liked: It was close to the area we spent our days, and we had 24/7 access for returning late in the evening. The beds were also very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly
Disliked: The room was much too small for a pair of friends, with the twin beds practically pushed together. We stayed in May originally, and after leaving I was immediately bombarded with two messages per day asking me to pay for the next stay which was 2.5 months away. My messages asking to stop were ignored, I eventually had to block them, as was my message requesting a large room to try to avoid the awkwardness from the first stay (we were given the same room). Online customer service needs improvement
