Practical. Nice pub

Liked: Pub was lovely, decor really nice. Food was good - pub food.
Disliked: The accommodation block was very outdated -furnishing all very dark in the room so wasn't very uplifting. They did provide a fan as it was so hot but you had to keep curtains semi-closed to stop sun shining in and the dark furnishings were made worse - heat not their fault obviously. Just needs updating.

Filthy room and dirty bed

Liked: It was a dirty room where the toilet was brown and round the edge of the carpet was thick dust where it hasn?t been cleaned in months, the fan in the room had clumps of dust on it and the bath curtain it was mouldy at the bottom. The twin bed wasn?t zipped up so I fell through it in the night.
Disliked: Nothing

Lovely staff

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant very nice. Nice breakfast. Very nice pub. Beds were comfortable.
Disliked: The rooms are in a separate building to the pub which is not described in Booking.com. Rooms could do with an upgrade, quite scruffy and dirty marked paint, very tired looking. Horrible smell in hallways. Bed was large and comfortable.

Great Value, no major problems.

Liked: breakfast good. staff very pleasant and efficient, comfy bed.
Disliked: room could be "smartened up", fresh paint, lights improved and bathroom extractor fixed.

Hot

Liked: Unfortunately the rooms do not have air conditioning so on the top floor where I was it was very hot. It was 31c outside and I did suffer at night. There was a fan which helped a lot but if you suffer in the heat do not stay here.
Disliked: Great location and, very friendly staff and some good food.

Poor

Liked: The restaurant decor was nice, the vibe was dull. It was Quiet for a saturday evening i guess due to the location which is great and the outside eating area looked nice if you fancied it, they gave us a choice to dine inside or outside. We chose inside.
Disliked: I was a guest at the hotel and the restaurant . The food was piss poor, my partner had a burger , how do you mess up a burger? onion was bigger than 3cm.. the burger pattie tasted off. I had a sirloin steak with mac and cheese, the mac and cheese was disgusting, the steak was cooked nicely but very low quality meat, and the mushroom sauce was curdled. I'm not a fussy eater at all, but could only eat a quarter of our meal. Then the hotel, we wanted to stay for a night, I was hopeful but could only manage less than 2 hours and checked out. Damp smell. Windows do not shut or open wider which was weird considering no air conditioning was available on a summers day, the only tiny table fan did not work it made a loud noise, we had to open it apart to stop the noise . Which shows no one does any sort of quality checks in this place. The tv did not work. The bathroom was old and tired. I mean we could have complained and moved rooms but I had a feeling it was same all round considering no lift, and we were on the 2nd floor with steep staircase , not for anyone with mobility issues. Considering the actual buisness model and location. This place needs a total facelift. No I wont return.
