Excellent location, beautiful scenery!

Liked: The view was stunning! Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Nice watching the communal campfire at night. Loved having access to the beach and kayaks/canoes. It was fairly quiet. Breakfast was great a buffet style with bacon, eggs, toast, beans, pancakes, coffee/tea and juice. We enjoyed our food at the restaurant for dinner - sandwich, fish n chips and chicken strips all delicious and fairly quick, friendly service.
Disliked: The carpet in the hallways. Much of the place was renovated, so it was strange to see such filthy carpets in the halls.

Great stay!

Liked: We booked a suite. It worked out perfectly for us. More space than we as a couple needed but sooo nice. There was no cooking facilities but with the microwave and fridge we made it work.A bit odd that the ensuite in the bedroom had a lovely shower, sink but no toilet. The king size bed was super comfy.We took our boat. The boat launch was so easy to use and the docking facilities were in excellent shape and well maintained.Heather at the front desk was beyond helpful from the time we called to book until we checked out. She was awesome!! Kayla (one of the servers) went above and beyond in the dining room to make sure we were well taken care of. Although breakfast was tasty and plentiful, they constantly ran out of some items and it took a longer than average to replenish. We really liked the lake and the location of the resort. We were pleasantly surprised that there were next to no mosquitoes/bugs. Overall the resort was very quiet even though there were a lot of people.It was extremely hot when we arrived but the air conditioning and ceiling fans made our suite very comfortable.
Disliked: As an “older” couple with some mobility issues we found the stairs down to the dock a bit of a challenge.

This resort could be great...

Liked: The rooms were nice. Bed was comfortable. Lake was nice. Nice that we could use canoes, kayaks and paddle boats.
Disliked: Bathroom floor had been redone which was nice but it was too high for the door the shut easily. Also, doors' paint was badly chipped. Hallways seemed dirty. There was what looked like a used kleenex thrown on the staircase to our room, and it was there all weekend. Pool was nice but looked kind of cloudy and a bit dirty. There was only small adult life jackets available. Also, we had breakfast at 10am. There was no bacon or eggs. Also, the pancake machine was not available until we were just about done eating.

Liked: We come to this resort for the 4th time and we'd like it here.We can used the water facilities anytime.The room is clean and spacious.The bed is comfortable.The view is amazing when you get up in the morning you can see the lake and the calm water.The breakfast is good.Overall our vacations was good.
Disliked: We are hoping that there are some other options for breakfast like add some muffins ,croissant and fresh fruits like bananas & apples.That would be nice if they dredge the bottom of the beach to removed some weeds.The geese pooped are alwys there;that would be nice that they put a friendly dog to scared them so they will not keep coming and the guest can use the ground to play some games if their done swimming.Overall we had a great time.

Exceptional

Liked: My friends and I had a fantastic mini getaway at the Grand Tappattoo Resort, the room was comfortable, the views were spectacular. We were pleasantly surprised of all the amenities this resort had to offer that was included in the price, for example a hot breakfast, indoor pool, sauna, workout room, lovely sandy beach with paddleboards, kayaks, canoes and floating trampoline and dock to use, firepits, BBQ's, trails and a beautiful restaurant right on the water. We enjoyed a delicious pan fried pickerel while watching the sunset over the lake, then wandered down to the beach to lay in the lounge chairs to star gaze and watch shooting stars. Otter Lake is large with several narrow channels and bays perfect for paddling! The staff were very friendly and attentive. It is only 8 minutes from Parry Sound. We highly recommend this resort and are planning our next visit there!
