Overall we had a pleasant...

Liked: The room was basic but clean and bed was comfortable, breakfast was ok, always plenty in the trays, location was fantastic, we had a room with a sea view which was lovely.The staff were excellent, very friendly and nothing was too much bother.
Disliked: The hotel was a bit tired and we couldn't stand or sit on our balconies as it was unsafe to do so. The choices of lager was not to our taste.

First time staying here

Liked: Bedroom clean, bathroom clean, shower had really good water pressure, it was a cozy room, coffee and tea facilities were good. Was good entertainment and enjoyed a nice drink the the quiet room.Staff was very pleasant 10/10
Disliked: Bed was uncomfortable was very hard, doors slamming, and an alarm going off at 5.45am and was noisy outside at 12am at night. TV was abit small but what can you do?

Liked: nothing. unadvertised courtyard room in a heatwave no thanks lol
Disliked: the horrible staff, the stench, the rooms look nothing like the pictures, the heat.

Disliked: The windows were dirty. Internally, it's outdated. Feels like old nursing home

Rude staff , terrible facilities...

Liked: Great location , easy parking outside and great views from the sea view side There was a coffee machine and kettle in the room and a hairdryer
Disliked: No housekeeping . Bins overflowing and No sheets changed on a 3 night break . Room Door didn’t lock. One of 2 Balcony doors didn’t open. Rusty balcony and weeds . Mould on doors and windows. No change of towels in 3 days. No toiletries in rooms to wash with . Rude staff when we asked about why there was no housekeeping for a 3 night break. Lots of dog charges not mentioned before booking including a £10 per night dog charge (expensive in comparison in the area) , then a £40 deposit and then also a £50 charge if your dog fouls the hotel and a contract to sign and card payment taken on hold to cover these ( fair enough- my dog is housetrained ) but it made it uncomfortable to be indoors with the dog. Why take a payment per night AND a deposit AND a holding fee charge of £50? Decor is tatty and probably from the 70s, windows were filthy, unwashed. Carpets filthy because they were so old. Very noisy floorboards with people walking past room. Messy landings with random items / hoovers/ statues/ boxes / mess left lying around. Couldn’t stay to have breakfast or dinner or see entertainment as were made to feel so uncomfortable having the dog there (small well trained dog)

Liked: Great position for sight seeing and the town, friendly staff.
Disliked: Nothing major but:-No one emptied the rubbish from the room during the stay.Unable to change an uncomfortable pillow, there were no others available because they are all standard.

Poor

looks beautiful from the outside...

Liked: the bed was extremely uncomfortable and smelled of urine, going out of the room the urine smell only seemed to get worse down the corridor. I understand people may have accidents but cleaning should be a priority and the fact it was such a strong odour was very off putting and we didn't go back until after 11pm and left at 8am just so we didn't have to spend time in the smelly room
Disliked: the fact the urine smell was not sorted. the lack of tea and coffee was also an issue, 2 tea bags that's it?

Really gone down hill

Liked: Location & history of the hotel
Disliked: Rooms not cleaned during stay, had to ask for extra pillows, towels & bins not emptied. We stayed 3 nights & on the 3rd day we asked reception to send us up some toilet rolls as we were running low & was handed them at reception to take to our rooms ourselves, very poor service won’t go again which is a pity as we have stayed there 6 times before, this was the opinion of a lot of people we spoke too.
