The Grand Hotel Llandudno
Liked: Excellent location, good views, right by the peir.Staff were helpful and friendly.Catering staff who checked you in for your meals were welcoming and Friendly. Breakfast was good and of variety. Rooms were basic but OK.
Disliked: Hotel in its self is in need of much repair. A beautiful building needing lots of TLC and investment. Rooms are basic and only just serve the needs of its guests, repairs are makeshift and bodged.Rooms with balconies have patio doors which the majority are unusable, some patio doors have restriction openings screwed to them for your safety. The balconies are rusted and worn, in need of repair and a paint job. Evening meals are a let down, food is very basic poorly presented and repetitive, Usually a choice of two things for the main. If you like bland and basic then you will like the evening meals, x3 courses soup, bread starter, main a choice of x2 things with tinned or frozen veg or basic salad, pudding choice of hot or cake, gatuex.

Liked: Just the ground floor was nice when you first walked in.
Disliked: We were on the 5th floor there had been no cleaning done in the room we had 522 family room. There was no heating on from when we arrived until we left a day earlier than we should have. My husband slept in his clothes for 2 nights as he just couldn't cope with how cold it was in the room and he also has severe illness. I went down to the reception to complain how cold the room was and they gave me an oil heater which was no way capable of heating a room that size. When we vacated a day earlier than we should have I informed the receptionist and told them I was going to report them to head office but they said they didn't know the phone number. For us to pay £226.00 plus travelling expenses for a room that was diabolical is an outrage so how can I claim compensation back from yourselves as the grand Hotel said because we booked from booking. Com we had to inform you. We heard rumours that because the grand Hotel was in-between refurbishedment that the hotel could not afford to heat the hotel to full capacity and also pay for the refurbish at the same time, so that was why there was no heating on and all the guests were complaining how cold the hotel was to the staff on the reception desk.

Liked: Nice to see new carpets.The Bar looked lovely, New Carpets & Furniture was lovelyStaff at the bar where lovely.
Disliked: You book a Sea View Room, but you you can't go onto the Balcony anymore, as the doors are locked.Also you can't get a view from the windows in the room as the windows are dirty.Also from the bar, you can't go on Balcony & look or have drink on there, or watch people walking up & down the Pier.
