The Golden Lion Hotel

Very happy with our stay....

Liked: Location was great. Was able to check in early. Room was compact but very comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom was very nice. Large shower. I do like a bath but I didn’t specify.
Disliked: If I had booked via the hotel direct we would have got our breakfast included in the price. So a bit annoyed it ended up costing us more booking through booking.com. I will always check in the future

Good

Liked: Very clean, comfortable and well presented room.
Disliked: Parking was a headache. Some staff friendly, some not so.

Just a few updates on...

Liked: The reception bar restaurant and conservatory done to an excellent standard and right on the beach what more could you want
Disliked: The room was a good size and a great sea view but the mattress was uncomfortable The bathroom could do with a refit it had a cracked sink The rest of the hotel is lovely but the bedrooms could do with an update

Chosen for its easy access...

Liked: Location was fantastic and the conservatory dining room great with superb views across the bay.Our room was spacious with a great view.
Disliked: Bit of confusion over parking when we arrived. Also thought it was expensive to not include breakfast. We did have breakfast on our first morning but nothing exceptional so found alternatives after that. It was quite noisy with traffic at the front but worth it for the view!

Liked: Lovely hotel newly decorated bedrooms in a great position on the green .
Disliked: The room although decorated to a high standard was rather warm,the windows only opened about 6 inches & the fan supplied in the room was really quite inadequate for cooling it down.

Liked: Clean and comfortable room. Good central location.
Disliked: Breakfast options should be explained to guests on arrival. Very expensive breakfast at £18 each.
