Have stayed on numerous occasions,...

Liked: The receptionist was fantastic. (she actually remembered that we were attending a funeral on this occasion, asked how it had been, which we were very touched by) Breakfast was great as usual and a Hello to the guy the has worked there for years
Disliked: The person in room 30 next door who had the TV so loud, I had to knock on his door at 4am

Liked: Room overlooked North Allerton high street which initially seemed lovely, because of the warm weather we needed a window slightly ajar. First night street cleaners working 0200 kept us awake for a couple of hours which was annoying.Second night following an all day wedding we were again woken by horrendous banging at 0400. It was the local market stallers setting up there stalls and they really did not care. Scaffold poles, tent frames, dozens chatting and laughing.and it went on for 2 hours solid. It’s not the hotels fault but if you’re left overlooking the high street on a Friday night I would ask to be moved. We had 2 nights of broken disrupted sleep.Toilet did not have a lid, only the seat. The lid was missing.The toilet would not flush in the normal way. The only way to make it flush was to continuously pump the handle up and down 10-15 times. We didn’t report it because it’s fairly trivial but it’s not great when you can’t clear the toilet bowl.

Liked: Suited our purposes for our visit and on the main stretch
Disliked: Rooms and decor a little dated and breakfast was a let down unfortunately

Liked: Food was very good, position in the town is great and we thought the service was good too.
Disliked: We thought the inside of the building could do with some refurbishment.

Liked: Dinner was very good value. We skipped breakfast as we booked lunch in York.
Disliked: The room was right on the street frontage and there was a delivery outside at about 4.30 am which woke us both up - the windows were wide open it being so hot.There was no blind in the bathroom just a net curtain which didn't hide much!
