Liked: The Golden Fleece is central in the town, with Free parking, it also has a restaurant. The staff are helpful and the service is good. The ambience is both old as in the building but modern in furnishings. We will def return

Characterful hotel

Liked: Central location, quiet despite facing the main market place. Old, historic building. Staff very friendly, fabulous breakfast. Coffee machine provided but not used for us. Bed comfortable.
Disliked: Room, despite being a characterful suite was very hot, the air fan provided could only be used for max 2 hours before having to restart so disturbed sleep having to switch it back on. Room needs some decor tlc for the price, shower had black ?mould in the silicone, peeling paint on the ceiling and one of the rubber seals was hanging off on the shower door. Generally just needs some attention to paintwork and shower seals but love the history of the building. Despite these comments, we would stay again as it is just decor and excessive heat in the room that brought about these comments.

good location, excellent food, Anna...

Liked: Breakfast was excellent the standard of food was very good. Anna Lee was friendly approachable efficient. The chef cooks well.
Disliked: On a very hot afternoon we arrived and were placed on the top floor which was very hot and stuffy. Im sure the capacity of the hotel meant it was impossible to change however. To carry our cases up to the top floor wasnt ideal. At times I could criticise the cleanliness of tables, menus and crockery.
