I'd go back without hesitation.

Liked: It was a really beautiful establishment in a beautiful location. The staff were very kind. There were a lot of shops within walking distance. including a coffee shop next door.
Disliked: The room did not have a refrigerator, and there was no room service. The restaurant was only a few steps from the room, but I did not know until after I had showered following an 8 hour drive. It was a little uncomfortable standing in the entry of a fine dining establishment (with wedding parties at the bar) in my ultra casual attire and not feeling well. The restaurant staff were very kind though. I would also say that (for the price) breakfast was really unremarkable. This wouldn't stop me from returning. Just noting for others to know in advance of the stay.

Location nice, hard beds

Liked: Location to history about Stonewall Jackson. Not far from Natural Bridge
Disliked: Beds were hard, not comfortable at all, no microwave in room and restaurant closed

Cute Place, Bad Insulation

Liked: The hotel itself is decent but to call the walls "paper-thin" would be an insult to paper. From the time we checked in until our (early) checkout the next morning, I heard every noise, footstep, conversation, and guest vomiting (twice) with crystal clarity through the door, windows, and walls. The elevator, a relic that's great for nostalgia but bad for everything else, quite literally shook the floor with every door open and close. I ended up getting about one hour of sleep after being exhausted from the long drive down, if that's any indication of how truly loud everything is.

A historic hotel which promised...

Liked: Location was excellent, our room was large and had the walk in shower we needed.
Disliked: The hotel was dowdy and run down. The breakfast arrangement was not very good although included, just plastic wrapped things left out and paper plates - not what I’d expect in a good hotel. The restaurant although not part of the hotel is in it and therefore used by its clientele. It was not a pleasant place to have a meal and the food was underwhelming.
