The Georgian Townhouse

Very good

Liked: Really nice building a nice mix of fresh modern and retro/rustic furniture and decor in keeping with the period features. All the staff I spoke with were friendly & helpful.The bed was comfortable, the room had everything i could have wanted. Great location too, out of the way enough to be quiet but close enough that nowhere seemed out of the way. Also, nice to have a later check out time of 11am.
Disliked: Just a couple of small issues that could be ironed out, one is that the room was SO HOT - bear in mind, it's summer, it's a heatwave, but I got back past 2am after being out all day and it was hotter in the room than outside. There was a fan provided which did help, especially at night. The shower needs adjusting as there was a part of the head that flicks water out onto the floor, so either a really fast shower or you're using the towels provided to mop the floor. One last thing was the noise in the morning, as I was on the first floor and this also seems to be really popular for weddings/parties and events, it felt like from 9:00 there was drilling or sawing or something i definitely couldn't have slept through either directly under or next door to the room I was in - luckily I was already up and busy, but I wouldn't have appreciated that if I had a less busy day planned. Overall though, I would stay again. The venue and service were great. Besides the shower, any issues are just down to it being a hot week and it being wedding season - which isn't anything you can change.

A comfortable stay

Liked: Location excellent easy walking to town. Seemed quiet night sleep despite window open fan provided which kept room at comfortable temperature

Clean, comfortable, just a 10...

Liked: The room was small but had everything I needed (including a well stocked fridge) and was decorated in a modern and fresh style. It was clean and well kept and the bed was super comfy. The shower was hot with great pressure and the hotel also provided a fan for the super hot weather (it was a sweltering 32 degrees outside!) which proved to be incredibly useful for sleeping more comfortably. It was good value for a short break.
Disliked: Only two small niggles - the blind at the window was broken and hard to pull up / down - not normally a big issue but the sash window had a double pane for insulation and trying to get the window up / down or the double pane up / down to let some air in with a broken blind in the way was a hassle. I had to close the window at night due to the proximity of the road and associated noise. My phone signal in the room was also really poor (not the hotel's fault) - the WiFi was free but also really temperamental and often didn't work - it wouldn't have been sufficient if I was travelling for business.

Liked: We actually stayed over the road in Georgian townhouse apartment. We had a large bedroom with super king bed plus a separate bathroom with a walk in shower pluse a rolled to bath. Also a kitchen with microwave, coffee machine ,fridge and storage, also iron plus ironing board
Disliked: There was nothing I didn’t like

Wonderful staff and a beautiful...

Liked: Lovely Georgian building, it was very hot and sunny in our lovely room but the staff were able to give us another cooler room. Great gardens and outdoor space.
Disliked: Nil

Convenient and a treat

Liked: Spacious and the kitchen and sofa make such a difference
Disliked: The windows didn’t all open or close properly

In need of maintenance!!

Liked: Great location with parking. Staff were nice.
Disliked: Really needs some maintenance. Paint everywhere needs to be touched up. Carpets need to be cleaned or replaced. Grout in the shower was mouldy, easily cleaned with some mould spray. I’ve stayed here before but it seems they don’t care about keeping the rooms clean and maintained. Disappointing !
