Located in the heart of the lively market town of Selby in North Yorkshire the George Inn is set in a 15th Century coach house beside Selby Abbey. It consists of a large bar area and a beer garden. Perfect for our requirements, great...

Liked: Great location in Selby. Chose it as less expensive than York hotels and was close to the bus station, where buses to York are frequent.Staff were friendly and helpful.The bar food was decent, breakfast was hot and choice of fruit and cereal if wanted it.Parking is free once registered at hotel,Beds are fine and everything is clean.
Disliked: The hotel is a bit tired and needs a face-lift.However, this did not spoil our stay and it served its purpose. Thanks to all the staff who we came across. We would go back.

Adequate - would have been...

Liked: Both excellent - fantastic breakfast.
Disliked: Bedroom extremely dated and in need of a total overhaul, while the shower is pathetic to say the least.
