Liked: The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The location was perfect for our evening aboard the Forest of Dean Railway.Our rooms were together off a courtyard where no other guests could access which was nice.Millingbrook Lodge was very quaint.
Disliked: We had booked 2 rooms for 3 adults, a double and a twin. Whilst the double bed was comfortable we found the twin beds in room 5 weren’t, possibly it is fine for children but would not recommend this room for adults.We felt that the rooms were overpriced compared to other hotels we have stayed in.

Overpriced

Liked: Great Parking, Lovely looking building and clean.
Disliked: Over priced. Wifi which is advertised has such a weak signal it cannot be picked up by any device. Room was damp. Electrics were dangerous light switch coming off the wall and bedside lamp broken with exposed wires.

Liked: Shower was very slow, bed was a little soft but that just personal preference

Disliked: The shower was poor . Either scalding or freezing . Took 15 minutes to get a usable temperature.

Liked: Convenient as a base for meeting up with friends
Disliked: The check in time. We arrived a little early and everything was closed. We had to drive somewhere else to get a coffee. We were not expecting the room to be available early but somewhere to have sat and waiting would have been good.

Lovely accomodation and location

Liked: Accommodation staff and food
Disliked: We thought there was bike storage for very expensive mountain bikes but there was just a scruffy bin area which wasn’t secure so we had to leave bike on car hitch wasn’t ideal. Given proximity to Forest of Dean, secure bike storage would really add to the appeal.
