Fawlty Towers in Kent.

Liked: Ideal position and interesting history.
Disliked: It was very grubby. The room was clean except bathroom floor never cleaned. The glasses were very dirty. We had to ask for clean glasses. The tables outside were never wiped off each day. The Monday evening meal for my Caelliac sister was inedible. The staff were trying their best but had to constantly apologise to people. The shower in our Superior room had air locks and sometimes no water came out at all on the hot side. We were shown how to solve the problem by a very helpful member of Staff (Miles) who seemed to be on all posts bar the kitchen. When the final bill arrived they had included drinks which we had paid for at the bar. We had receipts to prove it.

A very comfortable , welcoming...

Liked: The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great. There was a huge selection of cooked options that were freshly cooked to order, plus croissants, fruit and cereals. We had an evening meal the first night and it was of such a high standard that we decided to eat there again on our second night. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly.
Disliked: All good.

Incredible history, food and service

Liked: Ancient timbers, lots of history, authentic rural village experience. Close to Sissinghurst Gardens. Fabulous food. Complimentary breakfast means anything on the menu, not just a small continental. Noah went above and beyond to help us with travel arrangements.
Disliked: It would be hot if the weather hadn't been moderate.

Probably wouldnt go back....

Liked: Great location on the High St. Hotel had some charm. Staff were pleasant.
Disliked: When we checked in...a man who appeared to be a regular was sitting at the bar and belched loudly. That put me off right from the start. The room was nice enough - an old building of course - the floor was very sloping. The bed was comfy but the pillows terrible and they had separate taps for hot and cold. The building may be old but its the 21st century and for the price the plumbing should be better. The sandwich we ordered the afternoon we left was very good.

Great location.

Liked: Breakfast was good. Had a wonderful steak in the dining room one night. Bar staff were very good.
Disliked: No hot water from the shower. Had to have baths during my stay. They said they had a plumber in to fix the problem, but it continued throughout my stay.
