Do not waste your money...

Liked: This time our stay was a massive and expensive disappointment
Disliked: Don't waste your money here, the guest experience does not match the big price tag. We've stayed here many times over many years and got married here. It's always been a pricey hotel but the lovely rooms, ambience and facilities made it worth it. These days, the rooms are run down, the mattress and pillows were lumpy, the breakfast buffet was sad and limited, the overall guest experience very poor. We paid £329 for a very poor night's sleep. When we complained they said they'd upgraded us to the deluxe (watch out if you book any other level if that's the deluxe!) and the receptionist wasn't the slightest bit interested in our feedback.

Good location but expensive ..

Liked: Good location friendly and pleasant reception and staff
Disliked: Didn’t give the feeling of a luxury hotel or value for money

Liked: Great location in historical building, great food, great staff, beautiful outside bar area great views
Disliked: Room given was poorly maintained stained ceiling, door handle came off, marks and stains on walls, in a corner of the building were rooms not at the same standard as the other rooms, for the price felt a bit aggrieved.

overall enjoyable with reception staff...

Liked: location excellent. well situated in Yarmouth.easy access to ferry.
Disliked: absence of a lift.Reception staff kindly assisted us in carrying heavy bags to top floor.Our room looked onto a roof so really no view of any sort . Fan not really that adequate in time of intense heat. Window opened only a little but probably because of safety.

Liked: Location and outdoor space. Dining room very nice and breakfast staff and service and choice excellent.
Disliked: Miserable and unhelpful reception staff . Tired decor in staircases.

Too expensive for what’s on...

Liked: The George has been a destination in Yarmouth for boaters for as long as I can remember. I understand it was refurbished sometime ago but still retains an element of historic charm. I thought the staff were welcoming and helpful.
Disliked: The hotel is tired and needs some investment. B&B there for two nights was far too expensive for what it was. The garden and beach club is an odd description given there isn’t a place for residents to just relax, but it’s probably one of the better places to visit for a meal. We didn’t eat there but the breakfast was a good offer and definitely prepared by someone that cared.
