Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast...

Liked: I’ve stayed here a few times now over a few years and it definitely needs up dating. This time we stayed in a family room which is more shabby than chic! It’s very tired and the room felt unloved. The garden was closed for refurb which wasn’t disclosed up front and given it’s the highlight of the hotel was disappointing.

Stop over after a week...

Liked: Superb breakfast, beautiful view over the Solent.Great location easy reach of shops, restaurants & bars.Very well stocked bar in the Hotel.

Exceptional

Liked: Love this hotel, stayed 3 times now. The staff are amazing, the rooms are characteristic of its era but truly luxurious too. Location superb, 2 mins from ferry, everything is in walking fistsnce. Hotel bar had roaring fire on a cold day...lovely. Breakfast selection varied and cooked to high standard. One of my favourite places to stay.
Disliked: That we had the leave...wanted to stay longer.
