Gatsby Hotel

Very good

Liked: excellent location in the heart of East Village, friendly staff, tasty coffee in the common room. even if the hotel is just next to the main street, no noises from there was heard. bath in the bathroom was a nice surprise!
Disliked: our room was on the first floor just next to the elevator, se we heard e v e r y o n e going out or coming back. there was quite big slot between the doors and the wall. no one told me that you cannot pay w/ cash or physical card - money goes directly from the account connected to booking.

Amazing location, would stay again...

Liked: The location was amazing!
Disliked: The Tv didn’t work, I wish there was a mini fridge in the room. Could have been cleaner when we arrived but everything else was great.

Disliked: I did not like the bath, but because I did not understand where was the switch for the shower.

Clean, friendly staff

Liked: Clean room, friendly staff. Very efficient AC in the room which heated the room.
Disliked: The strong smell of chlorine in the room, which gave us a bad headache. It faded somewhat during our stay so it was worst the first night. The staff could not explain what the reason was, other than from cleaning so we did not allow any cleaning during our stay.

Acceptable

Liked: Location far from most popular areas but public transportation ok. Excellent personnel. Room a little noisy and small.

If you have a problem...

Liked: Worst hotel stay I’ve had in a while. Hair in bed and the floors weren’t very clean but the main problem was noise. Street noise and residents noise. Between 3-5 am I was woken up every 5 minutes by loud residents slamming doors, moving between rooms and talking and laughing loudly. THERE IS NO PHONE IN THE ROOM! So I couldn’t call reception to ask them to deal with this. And hence i’m up writing this review. As a woman travelling alone I didn’t feel safe in this hotel with no ability to speak to anyone at night. I tried to scream from behind my bedroom door asking them people to be quiet. That’s all I can do and clearly they can’t hear me.
