The Gates Hotel South Beach

Very nice location

Liked: We had a 2 Queen balcony room which was spacious and clean, great spot on the front for watching the supercars go past which my Son loved. Great food at the pool bar.

Liked: I liked the location.
Disliked: Specifically to my room: there was no privacy in the bathroom. Travelled and shared room with friend. But bathroom door was a sliding door. No real privacy. Secondly the main door to the room does not close smoothly. Had to push hard to open and to shut. Regarding beach service: went to beach and the service had no towels. We had to wait an hour. There were only a few people in the beach from Gates. Also had some issues with a random person under the influence who walked up to our umbrella and threatened us for no apparent reason. Asked the staff taking care of umbrellas and chairs to contact security but they said they couldn’t do anything about it. That is unsat since the issue happened on “private property” under our umbrella. We ended up calling Miami police to resolve the issue. Beach staff could have been more helpful. Not a reflection on the facilities at all. Other than these couple of things we enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I would recommend these few adjustments and staff training to resolve issues occurring on property.
