Liked: Resort was small so easy to get to everything
Disliked: The hotel had events on 2 of the nights we were there and it was very loud in our room until fairly late. This made it rough as we are from east coast and wanted to go to bed. They had 2 hot tubs to accommodate kids but there was never a time that adults could have time alone in the pool. The cost to park was high in addition to the room rate.

Exceptional

Liked: The staff, service and everything that was exceptional. We were there for a wedding and it was beautiful... It was a heat record breaking day but besides that, it was PERFECT! The food, band and wedding venue area, were wonderful. The staff said the owners are very good to them and that a lot of them have been there for decades. Living in California is difficult financially but they all seemed happy with their jobs and in general. All in all we were so glad we went to our nephew's wedding. The bride's parents helped by setting the tone for the wedding weekend. They were lovely. Great trip, great fun at a great place.

Great confortable hotel with all...

Liked: Really great hotel with large confortable rooms, a good (if a little bit expensive) restaurant on-site, a large pool area with a very nice pool (with sunbeams, chairs, and towels on hand), and a very large, secure parking lot (you can either self-park or use valet service at your discretion). The hotel is down the road from Universal Studios (the hotel even offers a shuttle to go there), close to the Griffith Observatory, and a 25/30 min drive (with no traffic) from Santa Monica. Will recommend staying there!
Disliked: Nothing! We really enjoyed our stay at The Garland

Garland - one and done

Liked: Pool and Lobby very nice. Location is good. Staff is kind and service oriented. Caters mostly to families and good programs for families.
Disliked: Restaurant service slow. No coffee before 7:00 am. The rooms were nice but need some upgrades-- loud bathroom doors,etc.. The air con units are not the best and the bathroom doors that are on tracks need to fixed. Very noisy.

Disliked: I wish there would have been a hand rail in shower. I am handicapped.

An amazing hotel with super...

Liked: I loved how I was met with such warmth and friendliness the minute I arrived at the front door of the hotel! Everyone was so welcoming, from Don at the Valet service to David, Ami and Akkasithat the front desk to Scott at the Front Yard Bar and Restaurant. I was also so taken by the amount of detail put into every corner of the hotel with the amazing art work and design. No corner was spared of masterful artwork and clever retro design, thanks to the hotels amazing manager and head of interior design, Branco Ramos ! The rooms were comfortable and clean and the location of the hotel was perfect for my visit, which included a stop at the infamous jazz club The Baked Potato, less than a mile away from the hotel. And of course, a highlight for me was also being able to walk to The Brady Bunch House, just a few minutes away ! This hotel will now become a favorite of mine whenever I return to Los Angeles. I will recommend this to all my friends as well. Thank you all for being so kind and welcoming to me ! I hope to see you all soon !
Disliked: This is not a huge complaint but I did hear traffic from the freeway from my room. It became "white noise" after awhile and I sense not all rooms can hear this traffic; it was just where my room was position.
