Why Concert-goers love it

You’re just a 10-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station and around 15 minutes from the AO Arena — so catching your favorite act or hopping a late-night train is a breeze. Areas for Improvement

The Bottom Line

If you’re after a budget-friendly, brilliantly located hotel for your Manchester concert trip, The Gardens Hotel hits all the right notes.

Stopover hotel in central Manchester

Liked: The twin room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. Bath tub with hot shower and good pressure.
Disliked: The location - though central - can be a little dodgy in the evening/night.The facilities are basic: no air con (it was sweltering the days I was there), no fridge and no ice at the bar to have a cool drink in my room. The room I stayed in had windows that overlooked a dreary courtyard that seems to be the home of all the seagulls of Piccadilly gardens (they are noisy!).Creaky floor which makes movements of neighbours very audible.

Clean basic hotel in great...

Liked: The hotel was clean with friendly and helpful staff, had all you needed for a brief city centre stay. It's basic, and a room with no window was a little stuffy for a hot day but you don't need any more than what was there after a night out in the city. The breakfast was great and the waiter could not have been friendlier or more helpful. I'd recommend Yorkshire tea over Tetley any day, but fine otherwise.

Very poor

Disliked: I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately it did not meet expectations. The location is excellent, with easy access to local attractions and transport links, but that is really the only positive aspect of the experience. The room was not clean when I arrived, which was disappointing. The bed was uncomfortable and there was only one pillow provided. The decor was very outdated and gave the room a neglected appearance. Overall, the atmosphere felt tired and in need of refurbishment. The facilities were also quite poor and did not offer good value for money. Although the staff were friendly and tried their best to be helpful, the overall quality of the hotel does not reflect the price. There are other hotels in the area at a similar cost that provide a much better experience. In summary, the location is convenient but everything else falls short. I would not choose to stay here again
