Lovely decor, great evening food,...

Liked: Lovely rooms, very helpful and friendly staff and restaurant food in the evenings was to the highest standard. Extremely relaxing stay. We ate in both nights.
Disliked: Breakfast is an issue. The "Breakfast Tray" is really sold as a luxury addition to get excited about. In reality they have taken a business decision to not have chef's on site and the breakfast tray is a way of serving cold, preset, no choice breakfast quickly and efficiently. There are not even warm pastries. I get this from a business sense but a small sliver of salmon, some ham and cheese and cereal, does not remotely cut it when you have paid £1000+ for a weekend and expect to be able to order some cooked breakfast. It smacked of cost saving and that fact wasn't lost on anybody.....

Disliked: The rooms and beds were tiny, very expensive for an average hotel. The photos on the web site give the impression the hotel is on the beach, it isn’t!

Disliked: It was impossible to contact them by phone ‘their guest happiness answering machine is full’! Did not make my happiness soar! We were spending close to £5k for a birthday weekend for 4 rooms and they can’t answer the phone!Poor response to emails and miscommunication made this worse - we had to cancel a room late because of illness. They refused to partly refund even the meals unless room was sold. Find that policy really bad. They did not put rooms back onto booking.com for 3 days due to a ‘miscommunication’ but I couldn’t reach them to discuss. Having received a full refund because room did sell last minute, I have now called them to pay my drinks bill and can’t get through!
