The Gainsborough Bath Spa - YTL Classic Hotel

The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and located near to the Bath Forum, which is why we chose it.

Liked: Reception when we checked in.
Disliked: Nothing was bad.

Liked: Great central location. Hotel generally pretty good quality with great spa facilities.
Disliked: Parking situation wasnt very good. Hardly any space to drop off. Hotels parking is twice as expensive as parking in the nearby public parking plaza. Biggest issue was the timings of the spa. We booked this hotel to use the spa before we drive back to London. But the spa has very limited time slots for guests staying at the hotel. This meant ever guest flocked to the spa at 7pm and instead of having a relaxing time everyone was fighting for space. Seems strange that a hotel that charges a decent amount for a nights stay would limit when you can use the spa like that. Surely, people paying only for the spa shouldn’t get this much preferential treatment.

Liked: Great location in the middle of the city. Spacious rooms.
Disliked: Too expensive for what you get. The spa only being open at weird hours to hotel guests IMO is not a worthy 5 star experience. It gets so cramped and unhygienic that I don't recommend going here if you are choosing this hotel because of the spa.
