The Gables Inn Sausalito

Worth a short stay

Liked: Close to restaurants and bus stop. Paid parking was available for our stay.
Disliked: Construction not mentioned and happening on a Saturday. No breakfast or wine hour mentioned by others. Don’t believe central AC worked, but had an ample fan.

Liked: Location was ideal! Very clean and bed was very successful.
Disliked: Would have liked to have central fan. The fan we had was really loud and could have used a fan in the bathroom.

Liked: Loved the coffee and water available to us 24/7.Also loved the quiet and privacy of our room. Location was PERFECT!
Disliked: Carpet should be replaced. Table in the room would be nice.

Friendly, comfy and convenient!

Liked: The service was friendly and extremely helpful!
Disliked: Maybe if there were sheer blinds as well as the thick ones, just to have natural light while still having privacy.

An Outstanding Place to Stay

Liked: Lovely and charming, The Gables is a terrific place to stay in Sausalito. We were upgraded to rooms on the top floor that were really spacious with a view to the water. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom, with bath/shower combo was great. The room is up a flight of stairs from the lobby and has no A/C. We used a fan and the open windows at night and slept extremely well. (Also, our dinner at Scoma’s was outstanding, as was breakfast at Sausalito Bakery & Cafe - both a short walk from the hotel.)

Wonderful location/ambiance, just a few...

Liked: Excellent location. Short walk to shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. Fairly quiet. Individual, unique rooms. (We booked two) gas fireplace was a nice touch. Parking on site (for a fee).
Disliked: It could’ve been a really superior experience with a few adjustments. The bathroom smelled like chlorine, although it faded away during the stay. It was disappointing that the advertised bathtub jets did not work because that was one of the reasons I chose that room. The bed was comfortable, but pillows were lumpy/poor quality. My husband and I both wound up using our coats as pillows instead. It would’ve been helpful to have some bottled water in the room to use for the Keurig coffee maker that needed water.

Great Location

Liked: Perfect location and lovely big room. Staff were very friendly! Great place for a couple on vacation.
Disliked: I would have expected parking to be included with the cost of the room. Was a bit pricey.
